About Us

Talk About It!/¡Vamos A Hablarlo! is a bilingual multimedia and grassroots campaign focused on what we CAN do in San Antonio – Care, Adopt, Neuter (Cuida, Adopta, Estereliza) to help San Antonio achieve the Animal No Kill Initiative.  Achieving  No Kill status means the City of San Antonio will not euthanize any healthy, treatable or adoptable cats or dogs due to lack of shelter space or because their owner does not want them any longer.

The Talk About It!/¡Vamos A Hablarlo! Campaign is supported by the City of San Antonio, the San Antonio Area Foundation Animal No Kill Consortium of Partners, the Alamo Area Partners for Animal Welfare (AAPAW), and members and coalitions of animal welfare organizations. The San Antonio Area Foundation’s mission is helping donors achieve their charitable goals for the greater benefit of the community.  The Animal No Kill Consortium of Partners helps the San Antonio Area Foundation deliver on its mission by bringing a wide range of ideas, skills, and human and financial resources to bear on the No Kill initiative.

How is the Animal No Kill Initiative doing? The Animal No Kill Program Office at the San Antonio Area Foundation has developed a series of reports to track the status of our City’s 2006 Animal Care Strategic Plan goals based on the format of Nathan Winograd’s ‘No Kill Equation’. The report also shows the grants awarded to nonprofit agencies for No Kill related projects and the gifts received into our Animal No Kill Fund. Thank you to all the hard working employees and volunteers across partnering animal welfare agencies that are working diligently to help turn San Anotnio into a No Kill city. Help our initiative by caring for pets in your home and neighborhoods and together we will reach No Kill.
